Egypt records - Mohamed et al (2001, illustrated); who comment on the elongated shape, notably of the head, and the faint longitudinal sculpturation on the head; and the propodeum with blunt spines - now thought to be a misidentification of a single worker of Aphaenogaster splendida [Mostafa Sharaf].
