Research Summary

Member of the Reproductive Physiology group Project

My research interests cover all aspects of reproductive biology, but especially the function of the ovary. My group is studying this from several points of view: 1) The cell and tissue biology of ovarian growth, development and ovulation, particularly the interactions between follicular cells, the function and development of the follicular extracellular matrix and the roles of hormones and macromolecules; 2) Biophysical aspects of ovarian and follicular function, including the dynamics of follicle growth, the control of follicular temperature and the flow of follicular fluid during ovulation; 3) The role of the follicular environment in regulating the maturation of oocytes.

I am a member of the Society for Reproduction and Fertility and currently the Society's Treasurer and Company Secretary.
