Research Summary

Member of the Reproductive Physiology group

My research interests cover all aspects of reproductive biology, but especially the endocrinology and function of the ovary. Specific research interests include 1) The cell and tissue biology of ovarian growth, development and ovulation, particularly the interactions between follicular cells, the function and development of the follicular extracellular matrix and the roles of hormones and macromolecules; 2) Biophysical aspects of ovarian and follicular function, including the dynamics of follicle growth, 3) ovarian fluid transport and its regulation, 4) The role of the follicular environment in regulating the maturation of oocytes.

I am a member of the Society for Reproduction and Fertility (and past Committee Member and Treasurer) and a Senior Editor of Endocrine Connections journal.
