Centre Activities
Staff-PGR Forum
To promote a better understanding of the different kinds of research being conducted within the Centre for British Politics we hold a regular series of meetings to discuss the work of our staff and Post-Graduate Researchers.
A week prior to each meeting we will distribute a draft chapter, article or working paper to allow those attending the time to reflect on the work and to participate in an informed discussion that normally lasts an hour or so and continues in the Staff Club.
The programme for semester 2 is:
15th February 2012: Deidre Duffy, ‘Subjects, subjectivities and the “lived experience” of the Third Sector’
29th February 2012: Professor Philip Cowley ‘What do voters really want?’
14th March 2012: Dr Andrew Mumford, 'The political management of Britain's post-War counter-insurgency campaigns: the view from Whitehall'
28th March 2012: Professor Vivien Lowndes and Kerry McCaughie, 'Cuts, costs and creativity: local responses to austerity’ C105 L&SS
Unless stated otherwise, meetings start at 5.00pm in room B101, Law and Social Sciences Building.
All PGTs, PGRs and staff welcome.
