Biography

Dr Andrea Venn achieved her BSc in Maths from the University of Warwick, before going on to do her MSc in Medical Statistics at the University of Leicester and her PhD in Respiratory Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham.

Dr Venn is the joint module co-ordinator on Research methods in Epidemiology with Basic Statistics, as well as being the module co-ordinator for the Advanced statistics course on PhD training programme. She also supervises a wide range of students, undergraduate (B. Med. Sci) and postgraduate, including the Master's in Public Health and Master's in Applied Epidemiology, as well as PhD students.

Current Research

Dr Venn has two current main areas of interest: asthma and allergy epidemiology, and smoking and tobacco control. Her research in asthma and allergy epidemiology has included ongoing research in both the UK and developing countries such as Ethiopia.
