The China Policy Institute (CPI) is the research centre for the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies.
The CPI's mission is to inform experts and non-experts alike about key challenges facing China in its rapid development, and to investigate the formation of policy both in China and towards it. The research model is collaborative, working with leading think tanks and research establishments in China and elsewhere, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and with other experts in Nottingham and on the Nottingham Ningbo campus near Shanghai.
The research strategy of the School is to study China's global impact and the sustainability of its development in the context of globalisation.
In addition to their books and journal articles, our researchers and guest contributors publish their work through the CPI’s Policy Paper Series and Discussion Paper Series. Summaries of their findings and commentaries can be found on the China Analysis section of this website.
