Biography

Dr. Wu joined the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies, University of Nottingham as a lecturer in law in 2009. Her main research interest lies in international competition laws and competition regulation in China. Dr Wu holds a Ph.D in law from London School of Economics and Political Sciences, LL.M from university of Edinburgh, MA from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and BA from Beijing University of Foreign Studies. Dr Wu was assistant professor in the Division of European Legal and Political Studies, Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Dr Wu previously taught at the LSE law department. Dr Wu has been awarded the British Small Research Grant (2011-2012) and acted as the principal investigator to research on "When International Legal Norms Speak Chinese: Socialization of International Competition Law Norms into China's Antimonopoly Law". The project aims to investigate the mentality and practice of China in drawing upon international legal norms to development its socialist market economy. Dr Wu welcomes PhD application in her research areas and in relation to Chinese law.

Current Research

Dr Wu's research focuses on international competition laws and the development of Antimonopoly Law in China and the changing relationships among the state, law and market economy in China's reforms. Currently, Dr Wu is conducting research on the project " When International Legal Norms Speak Chinese: Socialization of International Competition Law Norms into the Antimonopoly Law of China", which is funded by the British Academy Small Research Grants in 2011-2012.
