Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Another way of accessing our expertise is through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs). This is a UK-wide programme with government support of up to two thirds of the cost of each project. If you have identified an area of knowledge that you currently lack and that can make an impact on your business, we will help you find the right academic to work with.  Once this link is established, we will help you to define a project with significant commercial and academic outcomes. A newly qualified graduate will then be employed as a KTP Associate who will work full-time on the project based at your premises.

We are involved with various KTPs within the school, lasting anything from 10 weeks to 3 years. Businesses that have entered into KTPs have seen an average increase of over £220K in annual pre-tax profits as a direct result of the project.  You will also benefit from the academic working closely with you and the Associate, and this often helps to increase the skills of existing staff.
