Biography

Muhammad Shafiullah is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, Malaysian Campus (UNMC). He received his PhD in Economics from Griffith University, Australia in 2015. Prior to joining UNMC, he worked at Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh, Griffith University, Australia, and North South University, Bangladesh.

Current Research

Muhammad Shafiullah's research broadly cover the areas of agriculture and natural resource economics, development and international economics, applied econometrics, macroeconomics, among others. He is interested in applying advanced econometric tools and techniques, especially nonparametric (nonlinear) econometrics, to explore economic issues as they relate to exploitation of mineral resources in Australia and its states and territories, development and macroeconomic stability in Bangladesh and other economies in the South Asian region, and other development, macroeconomic, international trade, and environmental and natural resource economics-related issues pertaining to other developing and developed economies.
