PG Certificate in Mentoring and Coaching (flexible)

1 year part-time: start dates July and January

This course allows you to develop your professional skills in coaching and  mentoring.  You will be working online, and collaboratively as part of a cohort, with the support of a university academic tutor.

Course aims

  • To promote your learning through critical reflection on and research into your practice.
  • To impact positively on your practice as a mentor/coach and consequently on the learning of your mentees and the students you teach.
  • To provide you with an enhanced understanding of the mentoring/coaching process in schools and colleges.
  • To develop your ability to critically evaluate research evidence on mentoring/coaching.
  • To develop your understanding of different research approaches to mentoring/coaching.

The Mentoring and Coaching modules are part of the MA in Education (flexible) and is designed so that successful participants can choose to continue their studies to achieve a Masters Degree.


 

Entry Requirements

  • An interest in/experience of mentoring and coaching. 
  • A first degree with at least second class honours.

International students whose first language is not English are required to provide evidence of competence in English i.e. a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with 6.0 on the written test), or equivalent.

 

Applicants whose first language is not English must, as a minimum, fulfill one of the following conditions:

  • IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
  • TOEFL 87 (no less than 21 in listening and writing, 22 in reading and 23 in speaking)
