Throughout the programme you will develop and enhance your knowledge and qualities of mind appropriate for study and ethical use of counselling skills and the practice of counselling.
Year 1
The first year of the course provides you with the core knowledge for practice, ie key counselling theory and appropriate use of counselling skills. » View all Year 1 modules.
In the second year you will work towards professional status via supervised counselling practice. » View all Year 2 modules.
In the final year you will gain further knowledge through a consolidating in-depth study and a choice of elective modules. » View all Year 3 modules.
This course provides innovative counselling training, professional and academic guidance through experiential learning methods. Through comprehensive training and development you are enabled to manage and monitor your counselling work in public or private practice.
You will have a broad knowledge of the theories of counselling and the issues that affect counselling professionals. You will have developed your ability to communicate effectively, to think critically and independently, and to undertake in-depth study.
On completion of the course you will have a recognised qualification in humanistic counselling practice. This degree is also suitable for those interested in postgraduate study.
