Current Research

Dr Alyson Langley joined the Human Factors Group in the School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Nottingham in September 2008 as a research associate and progressed to a research fellow after completing her PhD on median nerve biomechanics and upper limb disorders. At this present time she is involved in the Manual Work Support Throughout System Lifecycle by Exploiting Virtual and Augmented Reality (ManuVAR) which is a large scale collaborative project funded by the EU focussing on manual work as one of the most crucial and expensive components of manufacturing and incorporating nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies (NMP).

Alyson has experience in the application of a range of research methods and techniques, including: quantitative and qualitative research methods, seminars and presentations, literature reviews, usability assessments and user trials,

Past Research

In the past Dr Alyson Langley has worked on the Sound and Tangible Interfaces for Novel Product Design (SATIN) project which is a study into the development of a novel design tool incorporating sound and tangible interfaces.
