Senior Tutor, Faculty of Engineering
Graduated in 1975. Became a Chartered Civil Engineer in 1979 and was a practising civil engineer till 1983. Has been an academic civil engineer since then with strong links to the construction industry and the civil engineering profession. Has been course director, university senior tutor, industrial liaison officer, admissions tutor, marketing manager. Currently departmental senior tutor.
Knowledge of the modus operandi of the construction industry and civil engineering profession. Practical experience of construction and design. Delivers modules and short courses in construction management and construction practice. Works with professional body on scholarship committee and as a student liaison officer.

I entered the academic profession in 1983 after working for several years with a civil engineering contractor. I teach construction management and professional topics such as safety risk management. I am not actively involved in research but support research in project supervision of taught course students and in my role of Senior Tutor.
