  • Intestinal permeability measurement in vivo and in vitro (PhD student: Dr Abdul Alhamoruni)
  • Visceral and peripheral adipocytokines in severely obese NAFLD patients (with Dr Garry Tan, CISBM, and Dr Guru Aithal, WDDC)
  • Cochrane Systematic Review of antibiotic therapy in pancreatic necrosis
  • Randomised trial of fibrin glue in the treatment of pilonidal sinus disease
  • Epigenetics of colorectal cancer (in collaboration with Dr. Cristina Tufarelli, Wolfson Centre for Stem cells, Tissue Engineering and Modelling (STEM) University of Nottingham Centre for Biomolecular Sciences)
  • Micro RNA expression and function in cancers
  • Myoglobin as a predictor of operative outcomes (with Dr John Williams, Derby Hospitals and Prof Mike Rennie)
