HRLC Welcomes Students of the International Human Rights Law Short Course

7 January - 19 March 2010

The Human Rights Law Centre is pleased to welcome the new students of its International Human Rights Law course, which will run from 7 January to 19 March 2010.

This term's cohort come from Afghanistan, Iran, Brazil, Spain, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, Turkey and The Netherlands.

Over three months, the course will provide them with an in-depth understanding of international human rights standards and the international machinery of the United Nations, Council of Europe, the Organisation of American States and the African Union.  The course also shows how human rights standards are implemented and how they work in practice, including a visit to HMP Lowdham.  Classes are delivered by world experts and practitioners.  The students will also attend a number of human rights modules in the School of Law LLM programme.
