Assistant Professor in Applied Developmental Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences
Ms. Ma. Regina De Gracia is an assistant professor at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. She finished her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University in Manila, Philippines. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology at Boston College, Massachusetts, USA. She is a mental health counselor who has worked with different populations, including Deaf clients. She conducts individual, group and play therapy. She worked with Deaf students at the De La Salle College of St. Benilde, Manila where she served as the Coordinator of the Guidance and Counseling Program and the Assistant Coordinator for Career Education and Placement Program for the Deaf. She has taught undergraduate Psychology courses at the De La Salle University-Manila, De La Salle College of St.Benilde, and the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. She is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Association of the Philippines. She is a lifetime member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology, USA. She is currently conducting research on mental health practices of counselors for Filipino Deaf clients. She is conversant in Filipino and American Sign Language and is currently taking up courses in Malaysian Sign Language to be able to work with members of the local Deaf community.
I am currently teaching the following undergraduate modules: Psychology of Learning; Individual Differences; People, Groups, and Society; and Introduction to Counselling.
