Public Procurement: Global Revolution IV Conference

A two day international conference at the University of Nottingham Jubilee Campus Conference Centre, April 19-20th, 2010

This major international conference, organised jointly by Professor Sue Arrowsmith of the PPRG, School of Law, University of Nottingham and Professor Steen Treumer, University of Copenhagen, will bring together academics and those in practice to discuss key current issues in public procurement regulation and education. The conference will be run under the EU-funded Asia Link project for developing a global academic network in public procurement regulation. The conference will be attended by policy-makers, lawyers and practitioners from around the world, including from the main international organisations involved in procurement regulation, and by the world’s leading professors and researchers.   Speakers represent the following organisations:

  • European Commission
  • OECD
  • Office of Government Commerce
  • UNCITRAL
  • CIPS
  • World Bank Institute
  • COMESA
  • Asian Development Bank
  • Transparency International
  • Europol

 The key conference themes will examine a wide range of topical issues including:

  •  Key issues and developments in EU public procurement
  • Procurement regulation in the twenty-first century: challenges and issues for practitioners in the developed and developing worlds
  • Globalisation and harmonisation in public procurement regulation
  • Procurement practice and academia: the role of universities in procurement education and reform

The conference will include, plenary sessions for all delegates, a series of parallel workshops focusing on specific topics of interest to different delegates and poster presentations of current research.
