Expertise Summary

Alastair Mowbray read law as an undergraduate at the University of Warwick (LLB, First Class) and then completed a Doctorate in Public Law at the University of Edinburgh. He has been a member of staff in the School of Law at Nottingham since 1988. In 2003 he became Professor of Public Law. His primary research and teaching interests are in the fields of European Human Rights Law, Administrative Law and Constitutional Law. He has written books published for the academic community, students and legal practitioners (including "Cases & Materials on the European Convention on Human Rights" (2001 and 2007: Oxford University Press) and "The Development of Positive Obligations under the ECHR by the ECtHR" (2004: Hart); research articles written by him have appeared in leading academic journals including: Human Rights Law Review, European Public Law and Public Law.

Interests are in the fields of Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and European Human Rights Law.
