The current Sultan of Perak. He was the ninth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (roughly equivalent to King) of Malaysia from 26 April 1989 to 25 April 1994. After graduating from the University of Nottingham, HRH was admitted to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1954. He returned to Malaysia and served as the Assistant State Secretary of Perak. He then joined the Judicial and Legal Service of the federation of Malaya where he served as First Class magistrate and President of the Sessions Court. HRH is married with two sons and three daughters. His son HRH Raja Ashman Shah is also a graduate of the University (Economics 1981) see below.

The tenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (equivalent to King) of Malaysia from 26 April 1994 until 25 April 1999 and the fourth Yang di-Pertuan Besar of modern Negeri Sembilan. He is the son of HRH Sultan Tuanku Ja’afar (former King of Malaysia). Tunku Imran is an Independent non-executive Director of Malayan Cement Berhad and currently sits on the Board of several other public listed companies. He is also the immediate Past President of Badan Warisan Malaysia (Heritage of Malaysia Trust). Tunku Imran was Malaysia’s first National Squash Champion in 1973 and served as President of the World Squash Federation from 1989 to 1996 and after completion of this unanimously elected to be President Emeritus, a role specially created for him as an honour for the leadership he had provided for the sport. He is President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia and has served as Malaysia's Chef-de-Mission to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. He is a board member of the National Sports Council of Malaysia, President of the Malaysian Cricket Association, and Founding Chairman of the Foundation for Malaysian Sporting Excellence (SportExcel). Tunku Imran is also a board member of the International Cricket Council and Vice President of the Commonwealth Games Federation.

The sixth and current Prime Minister of Malaysia. He previously held the post of Deputy Prime Minister from January 7, 2004 until he succeeded Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as Prime Minister on April 3, 2009. Najib is President of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He is the son of Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak.

A member of Perak Royal Family. HRH Raja Ashman Shah is a Board Director, KKB Engineering Berhad. He is also a Board Director of Kian Joo Can Factory, Berhad. Raja Dato' Seri Ashman is the son of Sultan Azlan Shah, the present Sultan of Perak, also a graduate of the University (Law 1953; Hon LLD 1986). See above.

Chairman of Road Builder Holdings Bhd and Kinta Kellas Plc, one of Malaysia’s leading project management groups. Pro-Chancellor of University Kebangsaan Malaysia and President of United Nations Association, Malaysia. Tengku Rithauddeen is Chairman of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and led the ground-breaking ceremony of the UNiM campus site on the 29th January 2002.
