Current Research

To work in a team of multidisciplinary scientists to develop and apply new methodologies to study protein unfolding; specifically in relation to the blood clotting von Willebrand's disease. Biomembrane force probe (BFP) and Molecular force probe (MFP)/ Force robot will be used to study force-induced protein unfolding. Different protein constructs with von Willebrand factor domains will be designed, produced and studied for the effect of neighbouring domains and mutations. This will also involve immobilization strategies and experimental procedures to facilitate new force-induced protein unfolding studies.
