Expertise Summary

My back ground is a hospital pharmacist and had been practicing for the past 30 years. My last post before I join the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in 2006 is as Chief Pharmacist of a 1,000 bed hospital. In the past I had served in several committees (as a member as well as chairman) in the Pharmacy Division of the Ministry of Health Malaysia. I had also been involved in organising several National Conferences in Malaysia.

My expertise is in the field of pharmacy practice particularly in hospital pharmacy practice. I am highly involved in the teaching and also as module convenor of two pharmacy practice modules. Together with academic colleagues from UK and Malaysia, I also co-supervise a number of PhD students. I am also involved in supervising pharmacy practice projects of fourth year students from UK.

Current Research

My research interest are mainly focus on pharmacy education and pharmacy practice. Some areas of study which I am involved in includes Work-based learning of first-year pharmacy students; Continuing education of pharmacists; Usage of herbals in cardiovascular patients; Signposting from community pharmacy; Multivitamins, minerals and herbals sales in community pharmacy; Smoking cessation as well as Safety issues in commercial packages.
