The Politics Society

Both an award-winning Students’ Union Society and affiliated group to the School of Politics and International Relations, the Politics Society exists to provide an opportunity for student and staff members of the School of Politics – as well as politically-interested students, university-wide – to meet like-minded people and explore the political sphere.

By organising speaking events and roundtables, the society aims to provide anybody with an interest in politics with unique and interesting opportunities to develop and examine that interest.

Our trips, both foreign and domestic, have proven extremely popular and give participants a great chance to meet new people and interact with political institutions first hand; our annual tour of the Houses of Parliament and our forth-coming trip to New York and Washington, D.C. present two such opportunities.

Our social events and three sports teams aim not only to bring together students who share each others’ interest in all-things-political, but also go some way to integrating School and Society; the annual Spring Ball for instance marks the coming to the end of academic year for both students and staff of the School of Politics and International Relations.

We also form an informal part of the pastoral care system within the School; always available to point students with questions or concerns in the right direction toward the help that is on offer.

So if you’ve got any questions at all regarding what we do or how you can get involved, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at the Politics Society . You can also find us on the Student Union's Website  and on Facebook .

The Portal provides access to your personal information regarding your course or the School. It provides a one stop shop to resources across the University.
