Welcome to the Division of Stroke
The division has an international reputation for clinical and laboratory research in stroke, especially the pathophysiology, acute treatment, neuro-repair, and prevention of stroke. Key methodologies include clinical trials (phase I-IV), run from the Stroke Trials Unit, meta-analysis, and laboratory sciences.
Sited at the City Hospital campus of the University of Nottingham, in the Clinical Sciences Building, we work closely with NHS colleagues in the delivery and day-to-day running of the nationally-acclaimed clinical NHS stroke service based at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which delivers all aspects of multidisciplinary stroke care, from hyperacute (thrombolysis, neurointervention) through acute to rehabilitation and early supported discharge.
The Division is also actively involved in the provision of education by teaching at both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Strong collaborative links are maintained with key groups both within the University of Nottingham and outside with colleagues in the UK, Europe and worldwide.
