The Division of Stroke has an international reputation for clinical and laboratory research in stroke, and includes the Nottingham Stroke Trials Unit. We work closely with NHS colleagues in running the nationally-acclaimed clinical stroke service based at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are also actively involved in teaching and have strong collaborative links with key groups both within the University and with colleagues in the UK, Europe and worldwide.
-- Philip Bath, Head of Division
Our research ranges from the pathophysiology, acute treatment and neuro-repair to prevention of stroke. Key methodologies include clinical trials (phase I-IV), run from the Stroke Trials Unit, meta-analysis, and laboratory sciences.
