Biography

Rachel qualified from Cambridge University in 1999 and spent 3.5 years in general practice during which time she developed a strong interest in cardiorespiratory medicine and gained her certificate in Small Animal medicine. She then joined the Cardiorespiratory service at Liverpool university in 2004 as a resident in cardiorespiratory medicine. During this time Rachel gained her certificate in Veterinary Cardiology. From October 2007 Rachel worked in private referral practice where she initiated a Cardiorespiratory referral service. In 2008 she was awarded the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology. Rachel joined the University of Nottingham in August 2009 as an Associate Professor in Small Animal medicine. Her research interests include Syncope in dogs and feline cardiomyopathies. Outside work Rachel's hobbies include watersports and equestrian activties.
