Financial and Business Services

Headed up by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mr Chris Thompson, the Department incorporates a number of services and sections covering the University's financial and business affairs as well as various aspects of financial governance:

• Business Engagement and Innovation Services
  led by Michael Carr the Business Engagement and Innovation Services (BEIS) department encourages knowledge transfer, business partnership and the commercialisation of intellectual property across the University

• Commercial Services
  led by Graham Ward the Commercial Services department provides cash management, treasury and insurance services and has overall responsibility for third party catering and accommodation

• Finance Department
  led by Martin Wynne-Jones the Finance Department informs financial policy decisions and provides financial accounting and financial management services for the University

• Internal Audit Service
  led by Anne Robinson the Internal Audit Service (IAS) provides an independent appraisal of the University's activities and provides assurance on the arrangements for risk management, control and governance

• Procurement Department
  led by Jim Reed the Procurement Department oversees the University's procurement policy, including all aspects of travel for staff and students

• Research & Graduate Services
  led by Dr Richard Masterman the Research & Graduate Services (RGS) leads the University’s drive to achieve research excellence with impact including doctoral training activities through the Graduate School

• Safety Office
  led by Dr John Sutherland the Safety Office provides advice and support to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, students and visitors
