Tuition Fees FAQs

What are my tuition fees?

Tuition fees are based on where you are from, what you are studying, whether you are studying full-time or part-time and, in some cases, when you started studying your current programme.

There are also a few exceptional fees for placement years, mobility periods, re-assessments etc. Please see here for further details about Fee Regulations and tuition fee amounts.

You will see the exact amount of fees due on your online student account. Please note that tuition fees are charged based on course/module enrolments so only once you have enrolled onto all your courses will the full tuition fees for the academic year be displayed.

When are my tuition fees due?
Tuition fee instalments are set annually; please see the instalment dates for the 2017/18 academic year.
To discuss alternative payment dates, please contact studentaccounts@nottingham.ac.uk.

How can I pay?
The easiest way to pay is online.  Please see here for alternative payment methods.

I have applied for a tuition fee loan from the Student Loans Company; what do I need to do?

Once your application has been processed, the Student Loans Company will inform the University of the loan that you have been awarded.  Find out more about SLC loans and other funding here.

I’ve got a sponsor who will be paying my tuition fees; what do I need to do?
If you are sponsored by a third party such as an embassy, government or employer, you must provide evidence of their sponsorship by email to sponsorship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk.  Find out about Sponsorships and Scholarships here.

I have been awarded a scholarship which will cover some or all of my tuition fees; what do I need to do?
If you have been awarded a scholarship by the University of Nottingham, this should be displayed on your student account as a contribution towards your tuition fees. If you have any questions about your scholarships please contact financialsupport@nottingham.ac.uk.

Are there any scholarships or financial support I can apply for?
You can find out about any funding available through the Bursaries and Scholarships web pages.  Also, please visit the web pages for your academic School or Department.

If I interrupt or withdraw from my studies, can I get a tuition fee refund?

This will depend on when you interrupt or withdraw.  Please see the University’s Fee Regulations for the exact details.

If you are thinking of interrupting or leaving your studies, please speak to a member of staff as soon as possible so they can advise you of your situation and options. Find out more here.

But I still have questions…
Please email tuitionfees@nottingham.ac.uk and we’ll look into your individual queries.
