Summer Engineering Research Projects
Every summer we offer our best undergratuate students the opportunity to jump into the shoes of an Engineering Researcher and work on the most exciting and ground-breaking research projects in the country.
While research can take place in the University's technical labs with the support of an academic, we are inviting companies to propose and sponsor projects.
Our Programme is a cost-effective way to conduct company research, and as a sponsor you have the flexibility set the project parametres and delivery dates.
Our skilled students are supervised by a PhD student or Postdoctoral worker, and have access to a wide range of techical facilities on campus. You can also provide supervision if you prefer.
We will undertake all promotional and recruitment work, leaving you free to interview a recommended shortlist of students.

From skill development to confidence building, placements provide students with a variety of benefits. Hear from Thomas and Jess as they explain how work placements have given them a unique insight into industry and an opportunity to make a real-world impact.
"My placement at JCB helped me confirm the area of engineering I wanted to pursue in my future career. I was able to apply the technical skills I'd learnt at University to real world applications while being supported in developing these skills by experienced engineers. I was treated simply as another member of the team."
Thomas, MEng Mechanical Engineering
"Protolan strive for excellence, they put you out of your comfort zone and maintain strong support. I have found working for them very rewarding and enjoyable."
