Bill Cavanagh made honorary citizen

The citizenship was awarded on the occasion of the international conference 'Honouring the Dead in the Peloponnese' organised by the University's Centre for Spartan and Peloponnesian Studies. To mark the occasion, he was presented with an iron billhook, which youths of ancient Sparta were awarded for bravery after undergoing the whip.
