Nottingham's International Office provides you with a strong network of support – from your first enquiry through to graduation. The University’s International Office offers specialist knowledge and expertise from across the globe. The International Office can help with a variety of issues including:

The International Office also organises an airport pick-up service and Welcome Week for International students before classes start in September. A variety of trips and events are run throughout the year.

Important note: If you will be in the UK on an international student visa, you must be pursuing full-time study.

Post Study Work Scheme

Under the Post Study Work Scheme, international students who successfully complete a postgraduate degree are able to stay and work in the UK for up to two years at the end of their studies. For more advice, please contact the International Office.

International Students' Bureau

The International Students' Bureau (ISB) is run by international students, for international students. With more than 7,000 students representing over 110 countries, the ISB organises year-round cultural, social, and sporting events.

English language courses

The University's Centre for English Language Education (CELE) offers support for international students before and during their studies at the University. If you are aiming to study at The University of Nottingham, or at another British university, you can prepare by attending one of the Centre's pre-sessional English language courses, which run from one month to nine months depending on your language needs. The Centre will also offer you support with your language skills throughout your studies with us.

Funding your studies

Tuition fees cover registration, tuition, initial examination, graduation (not including guest tickets and gown hire), and automatic membership of the University Association which allows you to take advantage of the University facilities and community after graduation. Confirmation of the fee for your course will be provided with your offer letter.

You will also need to budget for accommodation, food, travel, purchasing books, and personal expenses. Most students spend an average of £700 per month, so you will need to ensure you have adequate funds to cover these costs.

There are many scholarships available from a variety of different sources, including a range of non-competitive scholarships.

We would encourage you to apply by the given deadline, so that the scholarship can be included on your CAS certificate for visa purposes. If you are unable to apply by the deadline, you can apply once you have registered at the University. Details on how to apply after registration will be available in September 2010.
