Fees and funding for postgraduate students

The University is committed to making full-time study at Nottingham both accessible and affordable.

Tuition fees

The amount you pay each year will depend on whether you study towards a

on a full- or part-time basis, and are classed as an international (also referred to as overseas) or UK/EU student for the purpose of fees. For up-to-date information on tuition fees, please go to the University's fee pages.

You should remember that as well as paying tuition fees to the University, you will have to afford the living expenses – we estimate that it will cost you approximately £700 a month to live in Nottingham. This covers accommodation, subsistence, buying books and clothes, and some entertainment. Please note that the actual amount of living expenses depends on your personal living standards; no liability can be accepted for the information on this page.

Funding opportunities

The majority of postgraduate students in the UK fund their own studies, often from a package made up of personal savings, parental loans or contributions, bank loans, and support from a trust or charity.

However, financial support and competitive scholarships are available and we encourage applicants to explore all funding opportunities at least a year in advance of the start date. Get more information about:

The information on these pages provides basic details about funding available from the University of Nottingham and external sources. The University also has a funding database which you can search. If you have any questions, please contact the Department.
