The image below shows the full Ultra-Deep Survey, produced from data taken over 2 years at the UK Infrared Telescope. At full resolution the image is more than 25,000 x 25,000 pixels, so zooming is required to appreciate the full depth of these data. This image was produced by combining images in three infrared colour bands, with RGB based on filters centred on 2.2, 1.6 and 1.2 microns. Many of the faintest objects are located at distances in excess of 10 billion light years.
