The School of Biology was established in 2003. It includes staff from the former Department of Genetics and colleagues from the biology section of the former School of Life and Environmental Sciences. Research in the School of Biology is managed and driven by the School Research Committee with representative members from all research themes. Regular internal (staff and postdoctoral) and external seminars as well as postgraduate symposia reflect the vibrant and active research ongoing in the School of Biology. Our main interests are described under the following headings – note that several group leaders have interests that contribute to two or more areas:
Animal Behaviour & Ecology
Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology
Fungal Biology & Genetics
Human Genetics
Molecular Cell Biology & Biophysics
Molecular Microbiology & Genome Dynamics
