PhD Successes November 2011

Congratulations to Emma Evans and Christopher Kay who successfully defended their PhD theses recently.

Emma's research project was called "The effect of hypoxia and oxidative stress on STAT3 regulation in cardiomyocytes" and she was supervised by Professor Peter Shaw.  She is now training to become an NHS clinical scientist.

Chris's research project was called "Membrane translocases in a mitochondrially derived organelle: a study of the T. vaginalis hydrogenosome" and was supervised by Dr Sabrina Dyall and Dr Ian Kerr.  Chris will continue to work in Ian's lab for the next few months before moving on to his next research position.

Well Done to Emma and Chris.
