For primary (5-11) schools and students

We have hosted campus visits from local primary schools and researchers can visit local classrooms. We can provide advice and resources for science teaching relating to biosciences and food security.

Contact: Biosciences Outreach Co-ordinator Dr Cath Rees (cath.rees@nottingham.ac.uk) or Outreach Officer Dr Susie Lydon (susannah.lydon@nottingham.ac.uk).

Undergraduate Ambassador Scheme

The Undergraduate Ambassador Scheme offers final-year undergraduates the opportunity to complete placements in local schools, promoting their subject and encouraging students to choose to study science further.

Ambassadors spend about one day per week in a school for around 10 weeks, assisting with a variety of science classes and preparing and delivering some teaching materials. If you are a teacher in a local primary school and are interested in hosting a Student Ambassador, contact the UAS coordinator, Dr Susie Lydon (susannah.lydon@nottingham.ac.uk).
