Plagiarism Guidelines

Plagiarism and Paraphrasing

Plagiarism and Paraphrasing are types of cheating behaviour termed “Academic Offences”. Cheating in examinations is an example of another academic offence. It is vitally important that you do not commit an academic offence during your University course as the penalties can be very severe.

To help you understand the nature of what plagiarism and paraphrasing is, the links below are provided. You should take the time to look through the attached links and read through the documents.

At the start of session students attend a mandatory plagiarism training session which includes interactive web-based learning packages. This is based upon the “Plagiarism and How to Avoid it” document below.
