Proteomics Laboratory
In the Proteomics Facility, we provide training and guidance in proteomics and protein analysis. We use the core technologies of 2D gel separation and mapping of proteins, followed by identification via mass spectrometry and database searching.
The facility is fully equipped with gel imaging and software analysis tools, robotic assistance including protein spot excision from gels, processing and tryptic digestion to peptides, and autosampler delivery to nanoscale HPLC coupled on-line to the Q-ToF2 mass spectrometer.
Services include protein identification by mass spectrometry, as well as additional protein analyses such as accurate intact mass measurement of proteins and covalent/non-covalent interactions.
Researchers from other divisions within the University are welcome to visit and use specialised pieces of equipment not available in their own research labs and for training in 2D gel electrophoresis and other proteomics techniques.
