Bioenergy Outreach
The Brewing Science group based at the Sutton Bonington Campus is leading the University’s newly initiated bioenergy programme as part of the BBSRC-sponsored Sustainable Bioenergy Centre. The major research programme currently being undertaken is Lignocellulosic Conversion to Ethanol (LACE) Programme - focussing on the conversion of waste plant material, such as straw, into biofuels.
The LACE programme now has an Outreach Officer whose role is to make the Centre's research more accessible and promote outreach activities, such as lectures, conferences and short courses, to schools and other interested communities.
