Deborah is a food science/microbiology graduate from the University of Leeds and holds a Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma as well as Masters in Marketing Management. Deborah has worked in both the food and drink industry and the higher education sector.
Whilst employed in industry Deborah was a quality manager for Allied Bakeries, an enforcement officer at the London Borough of Waltham Forest and a food technologist for Law Laboratories inspecting and auditing over 500 food and drink manufacturers in the UK, Europe and the US.
During her employment in higher education Deborah has managed masters level training and education programmes for food and pharmaceutical industry professionals, won regional and EU funding awards and assisted SME businesses in food product development.
Since January 2012 Deborah has been the Partnership Manager for the Agrifood Advanced Training Partnership, a BBSRC funded initiative to provide Masters level training and education to people working in the agrifood sector. Courses range from one-day continuing professional development through to credit bearing modules and a Masters course. Key subject areas for the partnership are crops, animals, food and nutrition and transferable skills that underpin these technical areas.
