Current Research

I am researcher on a Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) between the University of Nottingham and the British Beet Research Organisation. The aim of the project is to develop a yield benchmarking tool to aid growers in the management of their sugar beet.

Past Research

For my PhD project, I investigated the use of wheat straw to produce second-generation biofuels. The focus of my project was on dual-purpose cultivars that were optimised for both food and bioenergy. This work involved field experiments, economic modelling, life cycle analysis, and farmer surveys.

As part of my postdoctoral project, I conducted research into the use of reduced tillage practices to improve farm-level gross margins and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This involved the analysis of farm survey data and bio-economic modelling approaches.
