Biography

Dr. Lim Yin-Sze completed her Master in Enzyme and Food Biotechnology, and PhD in Microbial Biotechnology at the University Putra Malaysia. Dr. Lim is currently the Course Director in Nutrition degree at School of Biosciences.

Teaching Summary

Her teachings include: nutrition, food microbiology, immunology and biotechnology related modules.

Research Summary

Her research interests include the health potential and mechanism of probiotics and prebiotics in human and animals. Current research focuses include:

  • Reversing antibiotic resistance in foodborne pathogens using bacteriocins.
  • Development of prebiotic plant-based diet and processing strategy to remove anti-nutrients found in legumes.
