The School's reputation as a centre of pioneering excellence is endorsed by the grades it has been awarded for both teaching and research:-

  • The joint submission (School of Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine and Science) to 'Agriculture, Veterinary and Food Science' came TOP in the UK Research Assessment Exercise, December 2008, when assessed in terms of Research Power.

Location and Facilities

Courses are based at the Sutton Bonington Campus with the exception of Environmental Science, which is based at University Park. Some of our degree courses offer the opportunity to spend a year or semester at the University's Malaysia Campus.

The School benefits from state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities dedicated to the study of biosciences, including purpose-built plant and food science buildings, many specialised laboratories, a 24-hour learning resource centre, university farm and dairy centre. The facilities have been further enhanced with the establishment of a new School of Veterinary Science and Medicine which opened in 2006.

The School welcomes applications from students from all over the world. Please follow the links below to find out about what the School can offer you.
