Employability skills
The NUS and CBI have recently defined employability skills as
“a set of attributes, skills and knowledge that all labour market participants should possess to ensure they have the capability of being effective in the workplace – to the benefit of themselves, their employer and the wider economy”

In more detail, these skills include team work, self-management, application of IT and numeracy, business and customer awareness, communication and problem solving. These skills, along with many other transferable skills, are built into the framework of undergraduate courses within the School of Biosciences.
In addition to developing employability skills through your course, employers also highly value skills developed through extracurricular activity such as work experience and volunteering, getting involved in clubs and societies, and the Nottingham Advantage Award. Find out more.
