Following the 'Challenges in Road Pricing' seminar given by Prof. Frank Kelly FRS, a Transport Speed-Networking Event was held in the Senate Chamber on Weds June 6th 2007 between 2.15pm and 4pm. 14 speed-networkers from 6 different schools at Nottingham took part in this, the first Bridging the Gaps speed-networking event.

The speed-networking event was held in conjunction with Nottingham's Transport Strategy Group. Awareness of the TSG's activities was raised during the event, with a number of the speed-networkers expressing an interest in joining the TSG and discovering more about the group.

Speed-networkers met with all others attending the event, with encounters lasting for 5 minutes. Many were surprised how short this 5 minutes seemed! Some speed-networkers brought diagrams to allow easy presentation of their research ideas, and others gave hand-outs as each speed-networking encounter ended. Many speed-networkers exchanged business cards, to aid making contact in the future.

Upon leaving the speed-networking event, all speed-networkers were given a list of other attendees, containing brief biographies and keywords.
