Research Topic:
Sexual Imagery in Advertising Motivational Processes and Visual Attention

Research Details:
The present project attempts to examine the effects of exposure to certain type of advertising stimuli (sexual imagery) on human motivational processes and on consumer visual attention. More specifically, the present project proposes that exposure to sexual stimuli in advertising may have distinct effects on motivational processes of individuals such as the formation of life aspirations. Also, the present project proposes that consumer visual attention is directly influenced from the presence of such stimuli in product/service advertisements. Investigation of the former is supported by the framework of Self-Determination Theory while investigation on the latter utilises visual marketing theory and eye-tracking technology.
