University of Nottingham Tax Research Institute

The University of Nottingham Tax Research Institute was established in 2004. Its purpose is to conduct rigorous policy and practice research in taxation

The Institute operates jointly between the Business School and the School of Economics and maintains close links with international organisations such as the OECD, as well as with government departments and influential tax scholars from around the globe

Current work focuses on three research themes: behavioural effects of taxation, tax regulation and administration, and micro-modelling of tax policy. The TRI is represented on the UK government's consultative committee on modernising powers, deterrents and safeguards of HM Revenue and Customs and the steering group of the International Network for Tax Research.
