Research Topic:
in corporate sustainability reporting in the United Kingdom The audit society and accountability- stakeholders and companies perspectives.

Research Details:
The aim of the present study is to begin to clarify the issues in Sustainability Assurance by means of conducting in depth interviews with corporate social responsibility managers in ten selected case study organisations, together with eight stakeholder representatives. The case study organisations are selected on the basis of a desk-based analysis of sustainability assurance trends amongst the FTSE 100 companies. Stakeholder representatives are selected from amongst prominent social and environmental NGOs, a constituency which has formed the focal point of earlier studies (O'Dwyer, 2005a; 2005b) investigating stakeholder perceptions of the sustainability reporting practice itself, and who might therefore be expected to be receptive to the aims of the present project
