Current Research Activities
My research group has expertise in Supply Chain planning, scheduling and control, Modelling and Simulation and Mass Customization, as well as qualitative studies of OM practice in business and industry. Currently I am leading major projects in the areas of order fulfilment in the automotive sector with the Ford Motor Company and on modelling and simulating operations strategy for future aerospace business environments with Volvo Aerospace and Rolls-Royce. 2011 -		Bart MacCarthy chaired a panel session at the European Operations Management Conference, Cambridge (July 3-6th 2011): 'The same old methodologies? - a panel debate' Panellists - Ram Narasimhan (Michigan State), Chris Voss (LBS), Mike Lewis (Bath), Bart MacCarthy (Nottingham).
2011 -		Bart MacCarthy has taken over as President of the European Decision Sciences Institute (EDSI) for one year from 1st July 2011. EDSI is the European regional forum of the Decision Sciences Institute (US).
