Justin read Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Liverpool, followed by Healthcare Policy and Management at the University of Birmingham. He completed his doctorate in Sociology at the University of Nottingham on 'the social construction and control of medical errors'. He has held research posts at Aston University and University of Manchester, and was Lecturer in Medical Sociology and Associate Professor in Public Management at the University of Nottingham. After a short spell with Warwick University , where he was Professor of Public Management, he is now Professor at Nottingham University Business School.
