MBA Exchange Programme
Located in Pennsylvania's scenic Lehigh Valley, some 50 miles from Philadelphia, Lehigh University is ranked in the top tier of national research institutions in the US.Our exchange programme with Lehigh typically includes a group of eight Nottingham MBAs who travel to Lehigh in June and exchange views about the impact of the global financial crisis on the US business community. This follows a visit to the Business School by a group of Lehigh MBAs in the spring.
The MBAs' busy one week schedule includes a series of visits to major US institutions, including bankers, M&A specialists, corporate lawyers, real estate practitioners and some major international businesses. The programme includes time on the Lehigh campus learning about leadership, US financial institutions, and some of the mechanics of Wall Street trading.
The trip culminates in New York City where, for example, the group spend an afternoon with Thomson Reuters, in Times Square, learning about the increasingly fast-paced news environment and the effect of this on how companies manage their brand reputation.

Associate Dean - College of Business and Economics, Lehigh University "The MBA Fellowship Program was developed to give students from Lehigh University and the University of Nottingham the opportunity to study business overseas via academic sessions, panel discussions, and corporate visits. By working with Lehigh's Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise, we have crafted a program that allows both sets of students to learn from academic experts, executives and industry leaders on important current issues including corporate social responsibility, leadership, finance, and government involvement with business in the United States and the U.K. The 2009-2010 trip provided a unique opportunity for University of Nottingham students to explore the issue of financial leadership in the aftermath of the financial crisis. The students visit Lehigh's campus in Bethlehem, Pa., government and private offices in Washington, D.C. and New York city. The fellowship program has provided an experience that the students could not get in any classroom or in any other setting, and helps build global perspective in our graduates." |

"I was delighted with the chance to participate in the Lehigh/Nottingham MBA Exchange, which was an intensive programme with valuable input in
terms of leadership management. Interesting insights by several companies contributed to this enriching experience, with site visits in Washington DC, Maryland,
Pennsylvania (Bethlehem) and New York City. The warm welcome by our American hosts combined with outstanding organisation impressed me most.
This opportunity offered me a deeper understanding of the American way of doing business accompanied by priceless opportunities to build up network contacts and exchange points of view." |
