Organisational Culture

Module Content:
Organisational Culture what it is - why it is important, and how it can be managed - is one of the key issues in contemporary management studies. The option builds upon and extends students knowledge of organisational behaviour, organisational change and human resource management. The module is taught by means of case studies, videos, focused discussions and lectures

Module Aims:
To enable students to:

1 Understand what is meant by the phrase organizational culture, and especially its genesis, contents and perpetuation.
2 Comprehend some of the more important research issues involved in studying organizational culture.
3 Become familiar with some of the principal models for understanding culture change.
4 Critically assess some of the methods for creating and sustaining culture
changes.
5 Consider the linkages between culture, strategy and performance

Module Assessment:
Presentation (25%); Individual Project (75%)
